It's HOMECOMING WEEK, and we've got a fun and busy week ahead at North! 🎉

We're kicking things off with our first Spirit Week of the year, October 19–23, and we can't wait to see our Highlanders showing their school spirit!

A few important reminders: Friday, October 23 is a half day for PSAT/SAT testing, followed by our Homecoming Football Game Friday night! 

The celebrations continue on Saturday, October 24, with the NEDT Dance Showcase and Homecoming Dance following 💃🏈

🎟️Homecoming Tickets will be on sale at lunch all this week, $10 cash or payment via SchoolPay. The Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, 10/24 from 8 pm - 10:30 pm at North Eugene High School.

The Homecoming Court and Royalty will be announced at the assembly on Tuesday, 10/20. 

🏈 The Homecoming Football game is vs. Springfield @ 7 PM on Friday 10/23. The theme is 🩷PINK OUT🩷.  ASB will have freebies and face painting at the gates before the game to help get everyone in the spirit! This is also our Senior Night for Dance, Cheer, and Football, with presentations taking place before the game. 

👑The Homecoming Court will be recognized at halftime alongside performances from the Cheer and Dance Teams.

Save-the-date:  Oregon State University will be here for an Application Workshop on Monday, October 26th, from 11am-1pm to help assist all 12th graders applying to OSU and submitting their application by the Early Action deadline of November 1st.

Come get one-on-one support from Claire Poffenbarger, our OSU Admissions Rep. She will be here to help you with anything including Common App questions, inputting your transcript information, or personal statements.

Every year, North Eugene students have been awarded the Al Forthan Scholarship, and we want to make sure eligible students know about this opportunity.

This scholarship is for students who have been raised by a parent or guardian who experienced addiction, or who have personally experienced addiction and are now in recovery.

The application is open now and closes in January.

If you know a student who may be eligible, please share this opportunity with them. We are also happy to help students through the application process if they need support getting started or completing their application.

This exciting fundraising event for our Highlanders Dance Team features talented performing groups and competitive dance teams from across Lane County. Be sure to check out our silent auction, featuring gift baskets with highlighted items from local businesses.

It is now time to begin the ordering process for the Class of 2027 Graduation. Orders need to be placed through Miners Graduate Services. Order packets were given out to seniors at school during a class meeting. Below are the instructions and informational flyer for placing your graduation order:

Attention parents of juniors and seniors! 

Your student should have received an IB registration form (green handout) in their IB Language and Literature class last week. 

Any student who wants to register for exams for this year needs to fill out a registration form before October 30. Please click here for a copy of the form if you need it. 

Each exam costs $114.50, but families who qualify for SNAP benefits or other federal income assistance programs can test for free. 

Please reach out to Kendall Larsen at larsen_k@4j.lane.edu if you have questions about registration and/or payment - we want all students to be able to take IB exams and don't want money to be a barrier, so let us know if financial assistance is needed!

Students who take IB exams and receive a passing score of 4 (on a scale of 1 to 7) can earn 12 college credits for all HL subjects and 4 college credits for all SL subjects. This is an awesome opportunity for students to earn college credit while in high school - don't miss out!

Local piano teacher Harrison Wiesert offers lessons focused on helping students learn to play piano and create their own music! 

With over 20 years of music-making experience, Harrison offers one-hour lessons for $50.
