We are thrilled to have two dedicated licensed teachers, Stephanie Luiere and MacKenzie Vignoul, alongside Jacqueline Morrow, our amazing Online Learning EA, staffing the Online Learning Lab this year!!!
The North Eugene HS Online Learning Lab schedule is as follows:
- A days: Room 162 & Period 2 on A days: Library
- B days: Room 158
This year, there are a handful of changes for EOA and our Online Learning offerings. If you want to learn more, feel free to review this slide deck.
One significant change is that students are often scheduled into an online class during the school day to ensure consistent attendance and provide direct support from the OL Lab staff. They assist students in navigating their courses, answering questions, and helping them succeed in this learning structure.
The opportunity to take an Online Class at North provides several benefits:
1. Smaller learning environment with Online Learning structures
2. Credit Recovery Classes taught by 4J teachers, helping to bridge the gap between the class a student previously struggled with and the online learning experience
3. Access to unique electives through asynchronous learning
For students interested in accessing the Online Learning Lab, please encourage them to introduce themselves to the OL Lab staff. Additionally, ensure they speak with their counselors, who can help them decide if Online Learning is the right option for them, and the Online Learning Request form.
We are also working to build stronger connections between students enrolled in Online Learning and their participation in the Lab. If possible, please consider walking students down to the Lab and introducing them to their supportive teachers. This small gesture significantly increases the likelihood that they will take advantage of the lab and all the support it offers.
