There is so much to celebrate around North right now! As we settle into the year, we are seeing more and more of the things that make a school feel like a school community, joyful students in the hallways, more face-to-face conversations, fewer phones, and students genuinely connecting with one another. Our activities and events are also off to a fantastic start, and the energy around the building is something worth celebrating!
Our seniors were willing to wake up extra early last week for Senior Sunrise, because apparently 6:30 a.m. is a perfectly reasonable time when you’re a senior and there are snacks involved! ☀️ We also watched our volleyball team take down Churchill in their home gym in an incredible four-set match. Our girls soccer team continues to dominate on the field, and our Highlander spirit is showing up in so many places.
And it isn’t just athletics and big events. LifeSkills has graciously volunteered to help with recycling, creating another opportunity for students to contribute to our school community. Our educational assistants continue to work incredibly hard every day to support students both in and out of the classroom. These are the kinds of contributions that don't always make the announcements, but they make a tremendous difference.
There are so many small wins happening across North right now. A student choosing conversation over a phone. A teacher making a connection in the hallway. A student showing up when they haven't been showing up. A team supporting one another. An EA helping a student navigate a challenging moment. Students cheering each other on. Staff saying yes to one more opportunity to build community.
These moments may seem small on their own, but together they are building something bigger.
