Hello North Eugene families,

May has arrived and the sunshine has been with us most every day - we are so thankful! It does make all the difference. It also reminds us that summer is on the horizon and an excitement is starting to build. This week we celebrate our amazing teachers and all the hard work, spirit, love and care they pour into their students and classrooms each and every day. Thank you Teachers!!

Volleyball Fundraising Tournament

We’re excited to announce the North Eugene High School Booster Club’s Volleyball Fundraising Tournament, the Highlander 4v4 Challenger! We will be hosting the tournament on May 10th! This event will feature a 4-on-4 volleyball tournament with men's and women's divisions, and we invite YOU to be part of the fun!

Event Details:

  • Date: May 10th, 2025
  • Format: 4-on-4 Volleyball Tournament
  • Divisions: Men's and Women's
  • Location: North Eugene High School
  • Registration: Now Open!

Not only will you have a great time competing with friends, but your participation will also help support the North Eugene High School Volleyball Program. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward enhancing programs, resources, and activities for our students.


Whether you're a seasoned player or just want to have fun and support a good cause, this event is for everyone!

How to Register:

  • Register here or use the QR code on the flyer

    • If you have already registered, using the link from the flyer handed out at the March 8th tournament, you DO NOT need to register again.
    • Each team must have a minimum of four players but can have more if needed, each player will need to register. 
  • Registration is open now, so don’t wait – secure your spot today! We are capping each division at 12 teams

Let’s come together to make this tournament a huge success for the North Eugene community. We look forward to seeing you on the court!

Senior Projects Night - May 27
Join us for Senior Projects night on May 27th from 5-8 pm! Students will be presenting about their career exploration experiences and their goals after high school. 

GSA Pride Fest is May 30
Youth Pride Festival on Friday, May 30th at North Eugene High School (4-7pm)! Everyone is invited to come celebrate Pride!
BTW - no bags will be allowed, there will be a bag check.

LSU Car Show is Back!
Come join us for Latine Student Union's 2nd Annual Car Show at North Eugene High School. It is a FREE EVENT for our community to enjoy and be a part of. 
If you want to register your car and possibly win an award there is a fee, scan the QR Code and register now.

SEAL Paid Office Work-Study Position
Hello Highlander 10th and 11th graders! 
 
Eugene 4j School District is offering one paid office work study position for the SEAL (Summer Enrichment & Academic Learning) program this summer. (See attached document.)
 
Google Form to apply is HERE!
 
The deadline is May 16 to apply.
 
I have attached the description details. Students will need two teachers to list as references and a resume to complete the application.

Summer SAIL Program
    Hello Class of 2026 and Class of 2027!
    Check out the University of Oregon's FREE Summer Programs for rising juniors and seniors to enrich your academic pursuits and learn about a number of different subjects taught by UO's professors. 
    This FREE week-long pre-college program, held on the UO campus, provides students with the chance to experience college life & get hands-on with exciting activities taught by UO's top-notch Faculty. All programs all include lunch, snacks, and supplies.

Summer teaching internship with the SEAL
   Hello Highlander 10th and 11th graders! 
    
   Eugene 4j School District is offering current high school sophomores and juniors the opportunity to be a summer teaching intern with the SEAL (Summer Enrichment and Academic Learning) Program. We are looking for high school students who are interested in working with students in Grades 1-5 for the summer (July 7- August 7). Students will be encouraged to attend our training and collaboration time July 1-2 as well. 
    
  •        Additionally, there are 5 paid internships as work study. We will use an interview process to determine who will fill the paid positions if we have more applicants than positions.
  •        Students who intern and meet class expectations will receive 1.0 OS credit titled "Summer Teaching Intern" whether or not the position is paid. 
  •        Students can count the experience as their extended application/Senior Project with the completion of a reflection.

The "4J MAPS First Generation College Scholarship" application is now open!

Are you the first person in your family to go to college? 

The 4J MAPS team (4J Managers/Administrators/Professionals/Supervisors Association) is hosting the annual scholarship for students who are the first generation of their family to attend college.

One student from each 4J high school will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Applicants will need to:

  1. Complete the attached application
  2. Write an essay (maximum one page) about your college plans
  3. Include an up-to-date transcript with final Semester 1 grades
  4. Include two letters of recommendations from NEHS teachers

Completed applications must be submitted no later than Friday, May 16th, in the College Career Center.

The North Parent Meets 5/12
May 12th @ 6pm. Your Opinion Matters - is our topic of the night. We will have an experienced guest speaker sharing about how, when and where to share your opinion how contributing doesn’t matter. 


Mother’s Day at Ophelia’s Place
Celebrate Mother’s Day with Ophelia’s Place’s girl leadership group, WACY, Women’s Advocacy Council for Youth! An event to celebrate, honor, and empower the mother figures in our lives. Free tea, snacks, and crafts will be available for all to enjoy! 11am at Hendricks Park in the lower picnic area. This is a free and accessible event open to the community.
