Hello North Eugene families,
We have made it to the final two months of the year. These are some of the busiest times in the building. Prom is coming up on May 3. Permission Slips for guests are due no later than Wednesday before the dance. (4/30) This is also the final date to submit community service hours for seniors. Graduation is on the horizon!

Volleyball Fundraising Tournament
We’re excited to announce the North Eugene High School Booster Club’s Volleyball Fundraising Tournament, the Highlander 4v4 Challenger! We will be hosting the tournament on May 10th! This event will feature a 4-on-4 volleyball tournament with men's and women's divisions, and we invite YOU to be part of the fun!

Event Details:

- Format: 4-on-4 Volleyball Tournament
- Divisions: Men's and Women's
- Location: North Eugene High School
- Registration: Now Open!
Not only will you have a great time competing with friends, but your participation will also help support the North Eugene High School Volleyball Program. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward enhancing programs, resources, and activities for our students.
Whether you're a seasoned player or just want to have fun and support a good cause, this event is for everyone!

- Each team must have a minimum of four players but can have more if needed, each player will need to register.

Paid Office Work Available with 4J for Students
- Do you want a small part-time job next school year working for Eugene 4J School District?
- Are you 16 years old or older?
- Will you have 2 hours per day available, Monday - Friday, anytime before 4pm?
- GPA requirement: 2.5 or higher
North Eugene High School and all the schools listed below in the North region are looking to hire a NEHS student for next school year, 2025/2026, as Work Study students for their "Front Office Aide" positions:
- River Road El Camino Elementary
- Howard Elementary
- Awbrey Park Elementary
- Kelly Middle School
- Madison Middle School
- North Eugene High School
This position is 2 hours a day in the front office helping file paperwork, answering the phone, running notes to classes, and fulfilling other general office duties. Students must be available to work for the entire school year. Pay is minimum wage.

Lane Community College Information Session
Hello Seniors,
Will you be attending Lane Community College in the fall? Are you considering it? Are you still undecided but want to investigate your options after graduation?
The College & Career Center invites you to the Lane Community College Information Session, Wednesday, April 23rd, drop-in between 11am - 2pm.
LCC's Admissions Rep., Rosa Maria Banuelos-Uribe will be in the College Career Center to help with all the next steps as you prepare to attend college in the fall.

- Have you submitted your Oregon Promise application? Deadline is June 1st!
- Have you submitted your financial aid application, either FAFSA or ORSAA? Deadline is June 1st!
- Have you claimed your new Lane gmail account?
- Have you taken the writing placement survey?

- Do you know when and how to register for classes?

Check out the University of Oregon's FREE Summer Programs for rising juniors and seniors to enrich your academic pursuits and learn about a number of different subjects taught by UO's professors.
This FREE week-long pre-college program, held on the UO campus, provides students with the chance to experience college life & get hands-on with exciting activities taught by UO's top-notch Faculty. All programs all include lunch, snacks, and supplies.

Summer Job Opportunity

Applications are now available for the FOOD for Lane County Youth Farm Crew. Please see the attachments and check out https://foodforlanecounty.org/employment/
The Youth Farm offers its participants:
- Educational activities on gardening, personal finance, life and job skills and nutrition
- Training in customer service, leadership, and teamwork
- Access to fresh organic fruits and vegetables
- Opportunity to serve our community by growing produce for households w/emergency food needs
- Healthy physical activity, adult mentoring and supervision, positive social interaction
- Minimum wage for 20 hours/week during the summer with a Wednesday-Friday schedule and Saturdays in May and September.

Summer teaching internship with the SEAL
- Additionally, there are 5 paid internships as work study. We will use an interview process to determine who will fill the paid positions if we have more applicants than positions.
- Students who intern and meet class expectations will receive 1.0 OS credit titled "Summer Teaching Intern" whether or not the position is paid.
- Students can count the experience as their extended application/Senior Project with the completion of a reflection.
