Hello NEHS Families,

We’re heading into a short week as we continue settling into the new year. Please note that Monday is a school holiday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and classes will resume Tuesday.

Even with the shortened schedule, there’s still plenty happening on campus with basketball and wrestling and our winter choir concert. Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support!!

Monday 1/26- from 3:30-6:00 pm

Seniors will have multiple teachers available to help them complete missing assessments required to earn credit for the course, get back on track academically, and earn the credits they need for graduation.

Plan to have your Senior attend if they are not on track.

Healthy snacks will be provided, via generous grant from our NEHS Booster Club.

FOCUS meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:45–4:45 pm in Room 201 (Highlander Academic Center).

School choice season for the 2026–27 school year is here.

January is school choice season in 4J. Each 4J school holds information sessions both in person and virtually so families can tour the building, learn about what’s offered, and ask questions. Visiting, either in-person or online, before making a school choice request is recommended, but not required.

Can’t make an information session? No worries. The school record their virtual presentations for viewing at your convenience. If you have questions after watching the recording, please contact the school directly.

If you have questions about an upcoming information session or require interpretation services, please check our website here

Navigation Center Concerns

Thank you to everyone who has shared concerns about activity at the Navigation Center near our school. We hear you, and we understand that safety and neighborhood conditions matter deeply to our community — especially when the site is right down the street from campus.

Because the transportation center and surrounding grounds are off-campus property, North Eugene High School does not have authority to directly manage what happens there. That means we are not able to enforce rules, monitor the site, or remove individuals from that space.

We are in regular communication with the City of Eugene and continue to share family and staff concerns with city partners. The City has also provided ways for community members to report issues directly when they observe them — and this is the best way to ensure proper follow-up by the appropriate public safety or services teams.

If you observe illegal activity (drug use, criminal behavior, or safety concerns) in the transportation center area, please use the City’s reporting tool here:

If you observe illegal camping, maintenance issues, or encampments that should be addressed by city crews, please report them here:

Reporting these concerns to the City helps ensure they are logged and routed to the correct responders. We will keep advocating alongside you for safe, welcoming spaces around our school and continue our partnership with city leaders.

Thank you for your care and continued support of our community.
