Change in Moratorium Week Dates
We are pleased to inform you that the OSAA has approved North Eugene High School's request to move our Moratorium Week to June 29th to July 5th (changed from the original July 27th-August 2nd). This change was made for various reasons that will benefit our overall program.
We fully recognize that some families may have already planned vacations during what was originally going to be Moratorium Week (July 27th-August 2nd). Please know that our coaching staff completely understands and respects these prior commitments.
We want to assure you that:
- Your child will not face any pressure to attend team events during the original Moratorium Week if you have prior plans
- No athlete will be penalized in any way for honoring family commitments made before this schedule change
If your family has pre-planned activities during the original Moratorium Week dates, there's no need for detailed explanations - simply let your child's coach know about the dates of absence.
During our new Moratorium Week (June 29th-July 5th), coaches will have no contact with athletes as per OSAA regulations.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we implement this schedule change. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

The North Parent Meets 5/12

We encourage you to finish the school year STRONG, EXCITED AND EQUIPPED with a couple huge gifts:
1) May 15: Learn About and Understand Executive Functioning Skills (for yourself as well as any kiddos in your life)
2) June 5: Learn About Advocacy Strategies and the Use of One-Page Profiles to bring about Positive Lifelong Success for All Involved
May 15 - Strategies to Help Students Improve Their Executive Functioning Skills - Executive Function refers to skills that we use to manage everyday tasks like making plans, solving problems and adapting to new situations. The three main skills are: Working memory, Inhibition control and Cognitive flexibility: planning, reasoning, solving problems, multitasking. We are thrilled Rachel Young is back with us once again to present on this little known but extremely important skill we all utilize everyday!! **Everyone any age can benefit greatly by understanding these basic but super important skills!! June 5 - Advocacy Strategies to Help Plan for a Positive Future AND the Importance of One-Page Profiles. (Your kids and their support team want you to learn this and then show them how!!) Laura Dahill, Debra Depew and Dani Crowley are excited to provide you with many specific handouts & tools to put in your "toolbox" to use in any scenario in order to achieve continual success. You will walk away with a renewed sense of being equipped and armed with specific ways to be proactive and able turn any situation into a productive and successful one for everyone involved.
Advocacy: To effectively advocate for yourself or anyone you care about, start by identifying needs and goals, then understand your rights and responsibilities. Practice communication that seeks to bring the best outcome to everyone involved, be willing to ask for help and build your confidence by connecting and collaborating. *Many people (and our kids) struggle with self-doubt and fear of rejection or conflict, which can inhibit their ability to speak up for their own needs.
One-Page Profile: Offers a summary that people in your child's life can use to get to know them quickly, create connection and ensure that they are providing support in the way the child learns, easily receives and that works best for their needs. (School, babysitter, coach, doctor, dentist, camp counselor, grandparents, etc.)
🌟 We want to help you Build Confidence and Give you Support 🌟 You will NOT want to miss this one!! 🌟
✅ Our purpose is to help equip, encourage and build up your knowledge with topics that affect kids in your care, you and your family. We provide a welcoming environment and encourage an open forum to ask questions and for the exchange of ideas, resources, and ways we have found were helpful in our own situations.
💜 💯 PLEASE BE SURE TO REGISTER so we know your childcare needs, how much food to provide or if you would like a zoom link sent to you.
🗣️** We would love to hear from you!! What topics and speakers would you like to hear from? We need your help so that we provide what is MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU!!
