News from the Library

Over that last year, many schools have understandably had a record-high number of books go unreturned. Please return all overdue books to NEHS as soon as possible. Books may be returned to the library during your cohort days or to the front office, MondayFriday between 8:30 am-3:30 pm. You may return items from previous years or from other schools within the 4J School District. You will not be charged fines for books that are returned, even if they are late. However, if you cannot locate the items, you will be charged the replacement cost. If paying is a hardship, please let us know and we will work with you.

Senior Updates: Latest on Graduation

We are so pleased to announce that due to increased vaccination rates in our community, changes in guidance from the Oregon Department of Education, and changes in guidance from the State of Oregon, we are now able to plan for a single graduation ceremony for all NEHS graduates this year, with each graduate able to invite four guests to the event!  Our single ceremony will occur at Swede Johnson Stadium, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021, and will still be live-streamed for those unable to attend.  We know these changes are in line with expressed desires from many students and families and we are very pleased about these developments.  Please know that parties of guests will be asked to maintain proper social distance from other parties of guests and that while masks will not be required for students, staff, or guests anyone who wishes to wear one is invited to do so.

Please note, graduates intending to walk at our ceremony on June 12th must attend the rehearsal event on Saturday morning at 9:00 am.  Rehearsal will take approximately one hour and this is when tickets for the afternoon’s ceremony will be distributed to graduates.  Seniors should report to the NEHS gym that morning for rehearsal.

A Heads Up!

EWEB is scheduled to perform work impacting Silver Lane (just east of the intersection with Grove St) on 6/1 and 6/2.  There will be one lane of traffic and they will be using flaggers to direct vehicles.  EWEB expects minor traffic delays.  This will provide the water tie-in to service the new building.
