9th Grade and New Student Orientation

ATTENTION 9th-grade families!

We are thrilled to welcome you back into the building for hybrid learning. If you are a 9th grader or if you are new to the building and would like a 45-minute tour before the first day of in-person learning, please confirm by completing the Google Form below. Your student will be scheduled for their tour according to their advisory class and cohort.  Tours will occur on either Wednesday, April 7th for Cohort 1 or April 14th for Cohort 2.  Final details will be communicated this coming week.

Attention North Eugene Students!
Spring sports begin again April 5 after school. To participate you must be registered on family ID with a current physical that is not expired.

All students interested in the boys and girls tennis teams at North should get in touch with Bob Reed at or text/call 541-543-4245. Players need to register on the Family ID site. Please see the link on the North website (Athletics-FamilyID). Practices will be starting soon!

Student Cohorts – Hybrid instruction begins on Monday, April 12th and student cohort assignments are now available.  A message was sent to your email through ParentVue and StudentVue and in most cases, students were assigned to their cohort based on their last name.  Students with last names beginning with letters A-L were assigned to Cohort 1, students with last names beginning with letters M-Z were assigned to Cohort 2, and any student that chose the ‘Same School Online’ option are assigned to an Online Only cohort.  For Cohorts 1 and 2, we’ve coordinated with our middle schools and elementary schools to accommodate as many families with students at multiple schools and have adjusted cohort assignments accordingly.  If you noticed your cohort assignment was incorrect, or you haven’t received your student’s cohort assignment please reach out to the school at (541)790-4500 or email us at  For additional details about the Hybrid instruction model, please visit the 4j school district’s website at:

Return to Building: What Students Need

All students that will be on campus will be required to wear a mask. It would be a good idea to bring and extra mask in your backpack.  Students will need to bring their school issued laptop & charger to and from school each day they attend. They will also need to bring class materials as indicated by their teacher. Student will also need a backpack or a bag to carry their items as lockers will not be available for use.

Entering The Building

When we return, to help manage the flow of students into the building, students will be asked to use an entrance to the school based on their grade level.  Please see the map above for the designated entrance point by grade.  This entrance designation is for the first period of the day (1st on A days and 4th on B days).  If a student arrives after the start of the first period of the day, they will be directed to use the main entrance of the school.

Students ride transit for free!

Lane Transit District (LTD) will continue allowing students to ride without a bus pass until September. For now, all students need to do to ride free is tell the driver that they are a 4J student. When LTD resumes student fare collection, students can still ride for free, but only if they get a pass from their school. We will share more information about how to get a free pass as we near September.

Seniors: North Scholars

The window to submit your application for North Scholars will close on April 12. Make sure you get all of your information in before then. North Scholar is the highest award that a student can earn at North Eugene High School. It is awarded on an annual basis in place of Valedictorian and Salutatorian. The student earning a North Scholar award epitomizes the spirit of scholarship, love of learning, and zeal to go beyond expectations. This spirit of inquiry is demonstrated over a long period of time, manifesting itself even beyond advanced classes. Students may be nominated by a staff member or may nominate themselves. A staff committee evaluates candidates based on specific criteria. The application can be found on the NEHS Website on the Senior Page.
