ASB (Associated Student Body) What is an ASB Card Good For?
ASB is the group of students who put on assemblies and activities like Spirit Week and Project Give. These students work directly with the campus principal to address student issues and provide a strong student voice for the school administrative team. If a club or group at North is interested in being in an assembly, ASB would be the group to contact. Students interested in becoming ASB members should contact their small school principal or ASB advisor, Corey Nicholsen.
Congratulations to the 2013-14 ASB officers.

Letter From A.S.B.
August 2012
Dear North Eugene Highlander Students, Parents, and Guardians.
I hope every one of you has had a wonderful summer so far. The 2012-2013 school year is closing in and the Associated Student Body group and I have been working tirelessly to make it one of the best years in Highlander history. Our ASB team was elected last June from the whole school and with the addition of several great consultants we have been planning several events that we can’t wait to share with the student body.
Every year ASB develops a goal that they want to achieve, and this year our goal is very close to all of you ASB members. Our major goal for the upcoming school year is to create the best overall experience for every single Highlander, in and outside of school. But at the same time we want to express that High school is a fun place to be, and having fun in high school is important to us. Some ways we believe we can help students reach this goal, is to get students involved in school groups, activities, and especially in clubs. We’ll be having a Club and Sports fair this fall, so instead of going home after school come spend some time with some friends in a club or sport. I know it will be a wonderful way to have a great time in high school! So we hope to see you join something during your high school life, and that you just have a Great Time.
Also some new things that our ASB are trying to implement for the upcoming year is to have more interactive school wide assemblies, and ways to bring the school together as a WHOLE. We have been very eager to start up pep-rallies again, and many other school wide functions that would bring us together. But the biggest thing we’re excited to add into the Highlander year is understanding how awesome we Highlanders are, and the history of our great school. We’ve constructed several ways we can explain who we Highlanders are in some fun ways, and we can’t wait to show it to you guys at the assemblies and around school. We’re even bringing back the Highlander FIGHT SONG!
And finally there are many fun things that we have planned, and that are already planned for the beginning of the year that you can get you engaged into. We’ll be having a Back -to-School Barbecue on September 5th! At around 12:30, and of course you’re invited. So call up all your friends and come hang out and just relax. Also there are a lot of sports going on during the fall from football to cross-country and everything in between. So cheer on a friend, or just come and show off your highlander pride.
On behalf of the 2012-2013 ASB team, we hope to see you soon, and have a great HIGHLANDER year.
Sincerely,
Seiji Maita

Student Council
Each small school has its own student government council. The Council represents each school in policy making and school-wide decisions. Their goal is also to increase awareness of students’ rights and responsibilities. Students interested in becoming Student Council members should contact their school principal.
